The Vendredi soir endowment fund has announced its three new grant recipients for the year 2023. Authors Clément Benech, Marion Grebert, and Laura Tinard each receive a grant of €10,000. Three artists – Téo Betin, Malik Jeannet, and Lionel Redon - have also been awarded a grant.
The Vendredi soir endowment fund was created in 2021 by the writer and president of Unifrance, Serge Toubiana, in tribute to his wife, Emmanuèle Bernheim, who passed away in 2017. Its name is derived from “Vendredi soir” (Friday Night), one of Emmanuèle Bernheim’s novels, published in 1998 by Gallimard and adapted into a film by director Claire Denis in 2002. The fund aims to support the uniqueness and daring of three novelists and three visual artists or photographers.
