Julia Krause-Harder’s work is driven by a profound fascination with paleontology and geography. The artist’s goal is to bring back to life the 800 documented species of dinosaurs.

Julia Krause-Harder transforms everyday objects—plastic, metal, wood, toys, even cassette tapes—into complex three-dimensional artefacts. These unlikely materials come together in her hands to form life-sized sculptures that are both anatomically precise and strikingly imaginative.

Textiles, too, remain central to her artistic language. Trained originally as a tailor, she dedicated nearly three years to her monumental textile work The Creation of the World, an immersive piece spanning more than 250 square meters.

Born in 1973 in Kronberg im Taunus, Krause-Harder lives and works in Frankfurt am Main. Since 2017 she has taught at the Goldstein Akademie, sharing her unique vision with younger generations. Her practice has also taken her abroad, including a residency in 2012 at La Fragua – The Forge Artist in Residency in Córdoba, Spain.
