screening and debate: documentary le voyage d’anton
with christian berst, léa hirschfeld, nancy huston, mariana loupan, galia loupan
Discovered by Christian Berst through writer Nancy Huston, Anton Hirschfeld is one of the youngest artists represented by the gallery. With his cursive writing, Anton Hirschfeld weaves lists of names, playlists, or guests in processional columns, forming the unexpected framework of his works. Nothing foreshadowed that Anton Hirschfeld, a young man with intellectual disabilities, would one day become a recognized painter.
Le Voyage d’Anton filmed by his mother retraces his journey since his first days.
The screening will be followed by a round-table discussion with christian berst (gallery owner), léa hirschfeld (author and creator of the podcast décalés), nancy huston (artist and author), mariana loupan (director) and galia loupan (chief content officer, marie claire).
Director: Mariana Loupan

Discovered thanks to the writer Nancy Huston, he is one of the youngest artists represented by the gallery. With his cursive writing, Anton Hirschfeld meshes lists of names, playlists or guests in processional columns, to form the unexpected frame of his works. As if the pastel, acrylic and ink that cover them were ordered according to secret links. First presented to the public in 2017 at the gallery, in march 2023, it was the subject of a documentary entitled “Le Voyage d’Anton” directed by Mariana Loupan with Schuch production.
