Bruno Buissonnet had a tough childhood, with a violent father. He was removed from his family and then he had to alternate between orphanage and foster family. He started to draw when he was a teenager, in pension. But he had to take a break from his creation because of his professional and familial obligations; indeed he got married when he was 24 years old and had three children which he has to take care besides the 3 x 8 that he was doing in a public works company.

In 1994, Bruno Buissonnet is sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment for public indecency. He will never see his wife and children again. He started to draw again when he was in the Central House of Saint- Martin-de-Ré ; he imagines the schema and the structure of an imaginary castle which he draws on sheets of paper glued together with adhesive tape. Released from prison in 2011, Buissonnet is transferred to an psychiatric hospital. He brought with him only a part of his drawings.
