Seven years ago, the general public was able to discover the travelling exhibition Wahnsinn sammeln - Outsider Art aus der Sammlung Damman (Madly Collecting Outsider Art from the Damman Collection), which can be traced back to the first comprehensive exhibition catalogue on art brut collections.
The second part of this travelling exhibition has finally been unveiled. Through the artists presented, it intends to question the constitution of art brut collections under the aegis of the psychiatrist, a figure who played a decisive role in the discovery of creators who are now internationally recognized.
The exhibition is once again accompanied by an important catalogue for which a text sheds light on the work of one artist. Christian Berst has been invited to give his views on the work of Janko Domsic, “the celestial mechanic”.
