Bruno Decharme’s donation
to the Centre Pompidou
“Bruno Decharme’s exceptional donation of nearly 1,000 works of Art Brut to Pompidou now makes it possible to write an essential chapter in the history of art. As Art Brut emerges from the blind spot where it was relegated for too long, the Musée National d’Art Moderne can take pride in its audacity by becoming a reference point and an example for institutions throughout the world. My thoughts are also with those - intellectuals, artists, collectors, amateurs, famous or anonymous - who have helped open the way for more than a century”.

More than 50 artists represented or exhibited by the gallery are thus entering the collections of the Musée National d’Art Moderne (Mnam-Centre Pompidou) in Paris. A permanent room dedicated to this donation will open on June 23rd on the fifth floor of the Musée national d’art moderne. To take into account the conservation constraints its content will rotate every six months.
